Inspirert av historien om gutten som redder sjøstjerner, en for en, har stiftelsen også hjulpet familier med små barn i USA som har vært i livskriser. En av disse var alenemoren «Betty», som lenge hadde bodd i en bil sammen med sine 3 små barn. Historien forteller hun best selv;

“It`s almost been a month since you and your team blessed us with our own home. I still can’t find the words to express my gratitude. You are heaven sent, you came in at a time I felt like giving up, like failing was the only thing in store for me. You gave me hope, you gave me another chance. Little by little, as I start to make this place feel like home, it hits me, that I don’t have to worry everyday about my next move will be. I don’t have to cry at night trying to figure out how I will get back on my feet.

I really can’t say thank you enough and I’ll probably never be able to pay you back but I promise to always, always pay it forward. You are all amazing people with hearts of gold, and I am truly forever endebted.
